No, you do not need to do anything. You will receive your personal Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card directly at check-in. To issue this for you, we only need your personal data such as name, address, and date of birth.

Can I go to the Dachstein with the Summer Card?

With a stay of at least two consecutive nights in a Summer Card rental business, you can take the Dachstein cable car once within the first seven days of your vacation. From the eighth day, another ascent and descent is possible. The ascent is already included on the day of arrival from 1:00 PM.

Are dogs allowed on this hike?

Yes, of course, you may bring your dog. However, please keep it on a leash and ensure to be considerate of other guests, animals, and nature. In the buses and during gondola rides, a muzzle may be required – so it’s best to inform yourself in advance about the respective regulations. Let's go: With the hiking bus to the Ursprungalm

Start your day in a completely relaxed manner – with the hiking bus that takes you directly to the Ursprungalm. No need to search for parking. Instead, enjoy the view of the mountains during the ride. Upon arrival, the Ursprungalm welcomes you with rustic huts and a landscape that looks like a painting.

On to the Giglach Lakes

From here, a beautiful hiking trail leads you to the Giglach Lakes. Two emerald green mountain lakes are nestled in the Schladminger Tauern – simply a place to breathe and marvel. Sit by the shore, dip your feet in the cool water, and enjoy the moment.

For the sporty: The Kalkspitzen

If you want to go higher, the Kalkspitzen beckon. The tour is a bit more challenging, but the view up there – indescribable! A real highlight for those who are sure-footed and looking for a little adventure.

You have several access options: e.g., at Planet-Planai, the town square, or the Schladming train station. From there, it goes towards Ursprungalm.

Duration:

The ascent to the Giglachsee hut and the lakes takes about 1-1.5 hours. Here you can either stop for a break or continue hiking to the Styrian and Lungauer Kalkspitze. The entire loop over the Kalkspitzen takes about 6-7 hours.

Distance:

To the Giglachsee: 2.4 km and 351 meters of elevation gain. The entire loop over the Kalkspitzen: 11 km and 950 meters of elevation gain.

Safety:

WARNING: The tour to the Kalkspitzen is only for experienced hikers. Please undertake this hike only with the right equipment, sufficient fitness, and good preparation. In alpine terrain, sure-footedness and weather observation are particularly important – this will make the tour a safe and unforgettable experience.
